Lake Villa District Library

// Library

A two-story space lined with translucent panels admits natural light into the center of the library.

Compare this construction shot with the virtual rendering of the finished space. The StudioGC Library Team makes extensive use of virtual computer modeling and high-tech renderings during the design process to help you visualize concepts and to allow you to effectively participate in the design process.

This view from the northwest shows the placement of the windows that will capture views of Crooked Lake. An exterior balcony will allow patrons to enjoy the outside air along with the view.

The new library will bring the district a state-of-the-art library experience as a venue for learning, social interaction, and events.

This view highlights the windows facing crooked lake. When complete, the site will be landscaped with a mixture of natural vegetation and lawn spaces that will support exterior events.

The emphasis on transparency and light is nowhere more evident than in the first floor Children’s library. The views toward the lake and natural light are complemented by a lively color pallet.
